Copenhagen - Part 1

Passed by the street which had part of it under construction to catch cab.

There's one place I love to visit when I'm in city is the Hard Rock Cafe. I developed an interest in collecting pins from Hard Rock Cafe and its shop. Particularly the guitar pins with the name and designs of the city I am at. Also, I would get my dad a t-shirt with the design and city I'm at. As it was raining heavily and windy in early noon, I took a cab to Hard Rock Cafe. The Cafe is particularly empty on a very windy and rainy day.

The waitresses at Hard Rock Cafe Copenhagen was very nice, friendly and accommodating. I ordered the Mediterranean pasta with some berry juice.

One of the signed guitars on display. The food bill came up to a total of DKK 250. It's pretty much a standard price paid for a main and a drink at any Hard Rock Cafe's. After brunch, I took a cab to Rosebborg Castle.

To get to Rosenborg Castle, one has to cross the gardens.

I love the landcape for this! Reminds me of Little Red Riding Hood.

Rosenborg Castle

One has to cross the bridge to reach the castle. I love visiting castles whenever I travel. Besides being a gem for photography, it tells one a lot of the country and city's history, monarchy and treasures. Fuelled with my liking and interests in antiques are strong enough reasons for me to make the extra trip to visit castles and palaces. I bought the entrance ticket for the castle and treasury visit. It costs DKK 50 for students.

Below are a few photos of what's inside the castle and treasury:

And for the wine enthusiasts:

Overall it was a great visit, especially for the castle and palace enthusiasts! After my visit to the castle, I went back for a nap as it was raining heavily, and I can't pretty do much with the strong wind and rain - my umbrella got overturned for n-times.

You sexy

thing!

I'm still very much in love with the Leica M9-P. Though I must admit my attention shifted to the Nikon D4 for a bit.

So here's to less shopping and more saving for...

Ooh, Leica M9-P, you sexy thing! So expensive at £5395, yet so lovely.

My goal is to get it by graduation next year, so I can claim VAT which amounts to almost £1000.

Athens Olympic Stadium

The Athens Olympic Stadium would otherwise be known as Olympic Stadium Spiros Louis. It was named after Spiros Louis, the 1896 Olympic marathon race winner. On a hot summer day, we visited the stadium. After we've covered the historical places, one has not much left to explore. It was my second time at the Olympic stadium. As one can see, the stadium was very much unutilised and empty (perhaps the athletics were on a summer holiday), but clean overall.

We met up with our Greek friend, Maria for a short tour before heading to the malls.

Yours truly under shading under Sara's red umbrella

The OAKA Plaza and Arch

According to our friend Maria, this "billboard" look alike structure is unique in a way that it produces music like wind chimes when the wind blows

Athens Olympic Velodrome

In summer 2009, when I first stepped foot in the Olympic stadium, I was very awed by the structures and design of the Olympic stadium. In fact, it was my first visit to an Olympic stadium (my second visit to an Olympic stadium was the Munich Olympic Stadium in winter 2009). Then as this was my second time visiting the same stadium, I wasn't that touristy anymore heheh. We spent about 20-30 minutes at the stadium, walked around, took some pictures and proceeded to the mall for some shopping and food.

These were the kind of pictures we took during my first trip to the stadium:

Jump shot attempts...

We looked like we're going to run a marathon and Shiau Sang at the other hand is dancing...

 We were too slow...

<
 And... I was too slow

 Hahaha

 Me & Shiau Sang

Hahaha why am I always too slow???

Hahaha I looked like I was going to step on some ants

 The ballerinas

 Almost.... there!

AND FINALLY...

Yay! A successful jump shot after n-tries!
