As a continuation of the first part of my Copenhagen post, the following is the second part. On my third day in Copenhagen, the weather was amazing. It was sunny for the whole time. The weather on my second day was bad as it rained the whole day and the wind was so strong that my umbrella constantly went inside out. I didn't do much on the second day except for to go to Hard Rock Cafe for brunch, and Rosenborg Castle, then back in my room.
As the day was very sunny and cheerful, I went to Nyhavn and bought a ticket for the boat and canal tour. It was DKK 70. There was a tour every hour and the day was still early at 10AM. So I decided to join the 2.30PM tour instead. After I bought my ticket, I went for breakfast at a cafe nearby. I had the breakfast set consisting a latte, a glass of orange juice, cheese, butter and carrot bread for DKK 80. Although albeit pricey, I loved everything as they're all my favourite... what more can one ask? :)
After breakfast, I walked around Nyhavn.
I love the pigeons, they're so cute and they looked very nice and cuddly. Not forgetting, fat too. All the while I thought the pigeons in London and the UK was fat enough. However, the ones in Copenhagen were definitely more obese!
After walking around Nyhavn, I walked around Stroget area as there was plenty of time before my desired time for the boat and canal tour.
There was a church nearby and I went in, sat down for a bit, then walked around taking photos and donated some money.
The old city hall of Copenhagen
One of the stores along Stroget. I wonder does the Danish know that Creme Fraiche is one of Jamie Oliver's favourite ingredient? I'm not sure whether it's Jamie's favourite ingredient... but it was in a lot of recipes.
I walked around... and I came across this very nice building, not knowing what it was as I did not know how to speak and read the Danish language. I did not have a map with me. All my explorations were done in my room with google map, and the routes were registered at the back of my head - except for buildings. I walked into the building, and surprisingly I entered (mind you, I looked very much like a tourist). The guards were very nice upon entering.
I was feeling a bit weird cause there weren't any tourists around in the building. There were offices, people in suits, and all that. However, everyone I encountered were very nice not to shoo me away. It was then after visiting the place, I googled map my routes and found out that I actually went into the City Hall! Haha.
Along the way back to Nyhavn, I saw the Lego store. It was there that I met an Indonesian couple living in Stockholm. They were very nice and friendly. The pictures were taken by the couple.
Then there I went, to the dock at Nyhavn for my anticipated boat tour. I was there pretty early, and sat outdoors and at the side. That would enable me to take photos in much convenience and not taking photos indoors with the window reflections. The photos were taken at the cost of me being froze like an iceberg. It was alright at first, but after the constant wind and chills, I started to feel a bit chilly myself - without gloves. So for most time of the tour when I was not taking photos, my hands were in my coat's pocket.
A replica of Michelangelo's David statue. Our tour guide told us it was a replica statue of David and that the original statue was in Rome. What he said was partially true. True, that was a replica statue of David. But the statue is not in Rome. It was in Florence. I've seen the original in Florence months back in summer.
I love Copenhagen! It's my first trip to the Scandinavian region and I loved it. I loved the cheese, dairies and seafood. People were very welcoming. Everyone that I met spoke good English, and they were very friendly, helpful and nice. The city was very clean, the air were fresh, and everything was lovely. I can't praise it enough. I would definitely love to visit Copenhagen again when time permits. :) Also, I would love to visit Stockholm
